Terms of service
These terms govern your use of tabemate (“we,” “us,” or “our”), including the marketing website at https://tabemate.com and the tabemate application at https://app.tabemate.com (together, the “Service”). By using the Service or starting a Tabemate Pro subscription, you agree to these terms.
The Service
tabemate is a personal food-tracking tool. It is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or substitute for advice from a qualified professional. Always consult a healthcare provider before making significant changes to your diet, exercise, or weight.
Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity that happens under your account. Provide accurate information and let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
Free and Pro tiers
The free tier lets you log meals, set goals, and view the current calendar month of history at no cost. Tabemate Pro is a paid upgrade that unlocks additional features such as cheat-day planning, unlimited history, weight trends, expanded custom meals and favorites, custom meal categories, and CSV export. The available features may change over time; we may add or improve features without notice.
Subscriptions and billing
Tabemate Pro is offered as a monthly subscription, an annual subscription, or a one-time Founder’s Lifetime plan, as described on the Go Pro page. Subscription options are shown in U.S. dollars and exclude any applicable taxes.
- Monthly and annual plans renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that plan, until you cancel.
- Founder’s Lifetime is a one-time charge that grants access to current and future Pro features for as long as the Service operates, subject to these terms.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). We do not store full card details on our servers.
Cancellation
You can cancel a recurring Pro subscription at any time through the Stripe customer portal linked from the app. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; Pro features remain available until then. After cancellation, your account reverts to the free tier and continues to work for daily logging.
Refunds
We offer a 14-day refund on Tabemate Pro subscriptions and the Founder’s Lifetime plan from the date of the initial charge, provided you have not extensively used the Pro features (for example, exporting your full historical data). After 14 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
To request a refund, email contact@tabemate.com from the address associated with your account. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Your data
Your diary, weight, and goal data belong to you. We never sell it. If you downgrade from Pro to free, your data is retained — only the view window changes; upgrading again restores full access. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing contact@tabemate.com.
Acceptable use
Don’t use the Service to break the law, infringe others’ rights, attack our infrastructure, scrape data beyond reasonable use, or attempt to bypass paid-feature gating. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Third-party services
We use third-party providers — including Supabase (auth and database), Stripe (payments), the USDA FoodData Central API (food nutrition), and our hosting providers. Their terms and privacy policies apply to their handling of your data.
Changes to the Service or terms
We may modify the Service or these terms over time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above and may notify you by email or in-app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that nutrition or projection figures will be error-free or fit for any particular purpose.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, tabemate is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state where tabemate is operated, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. You agree to bring any dispute in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
